Dugway is 1-9 against Mount Vernon since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Dugway Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mount Vernon Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Dugway comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Friday, Dugway was beaten by Rockwell 97-31. Dugway was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-13.
The losing side was boosted by Trevor Johnson, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hazen Bullcreek, who scored six points.
Mount Vernon suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 86-45 loss at the hands of Piute.
Dugway bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.8 points per game. As for Mount Vernon, they have fallen quite a ways from their 16-8 record last season and are now at 3-9.
Dugway was dealt a bruising 56-22 loss at the hands of Mount Vernon in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Dugway was down 32-12.
