4A KingCo - Crown recap September 17, 2013
Skyline was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in 4A KingCo - Crown. The Spartans beat Coeur d'Alene 38-23 earlier in the week.
Issaquah was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after falling to Mount Si. The Eagles came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
Nkumbu Chisebuka was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 170 yards on 12 carries as Newport defeated the Vikings. Teammate Paul Wells added to the ground attack by rushing for 90 yards.
Loville was the best wideout in the league this week as Mat Taylor's team bested Coeur d'Alene. Loville tallied 6 receptions for 45 yards. Cole Blackburn helped Skyline's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 24 yards.
Jacob Ta'ase put up the best numbers through the air as Ballard lost to O'Dea. He had a total of 11 completions for 140 yards. Ta'ase's favorite target this week was John DeGarmo, who caught 4 passes for 43 yards.
Kilton Anderson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Spartans defeated Shawn Amos' team. He completed 19 passes for 163 yards and also ran for 54 yards.
Skyline's Anderson and Blackburn have formed a dream team this season, leading 4A KingCo - Crown in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Anderson has thrown for 234 yards this season, while Blackburn has 7 catches for 57 yards. Conner Baumann from the Knights leads the league in rushing with 174 yards.
The Beavers lost to the Fighting Irish 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ta'ase was a bright spot for Ballard, as he in the defeat.
