Baseball Recap: Beatty Has No Trouble Against Beaver Dam

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beatty). Everything went their way against the Beaver Dam Diamondback on Friday as Beatty made off with a 15-8 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-6 on Friday.

Salvador Carrillo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Abelino Felix was incredible, scoring three runs while going 4-for-6. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jose IxtaBlanco, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Beatty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beaver Dam only posted a batting average of .259.

The victory made it two in a row for Beatty and bumps their season record up to 2-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Beaver Dam, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beatty will take on GV Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Beatty is facing GV Christian at the right time seeing as GV Christian is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Beaver Dam, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Laughlin at 1:00 p.m. on April 8.
