The Columbus Explorers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Southridge Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Columbus knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 21 games -- so hopefully Southridge likes a good challenge.
Columbus scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Hialeah Gardens at home to the tune of 101-47. Columbus has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 26 points or more this season.
Cameron Boozer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. He hasn't dropped below two blocks for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Feenane, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Southridge put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Coral Gables as Southridge made off with a 69-47 win. Winning may never get old, but Southridge sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Columbus pushed their record up to 17-4 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.4 points per game. As for Southridge, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Everything came up roses for Columbus against Southridge in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 81-47 victory. Does Columbus have another victory up their sleeve, or will Southridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
