West Noble had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 8-11 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Central Noble Cougars as they made off with an 11-3 win. Considering the Chargers have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Brooks Ruisard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Ruisard was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan Eash, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of West Noble's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2 (and 3-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.
West Noble kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
As for Central Noble, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
On Central Noble's side, Brody Morgan put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Morgan has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Treyton Fletcher made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
