Jefferson hasn't had much luck against Brackenridge recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mustangs will take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Brackenridge will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Jefferson extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Mustangs' pitchers stepped up to hand Highlands a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won eight matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Fernando Benitez-Ruiz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Jefferson's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 9-11 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Aiden Urdiales was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. Jefferson is undefeated when Urdiales posts two or more runs, but 6-11 otherwise. Gabriel Benavidez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Jefferson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Brackenridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on Sam Houston with a sharp 17-2 win on Thursday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
The team relied heavily on Jordan Monroy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Rodolfo Nino was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Brackenridge's record is now 6-12. As for Jefferson, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Jefferson couldn't quite get it done against Brackenridge in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 6-2. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
