Softball Recap: Aurora East Sets Scoring Season-High Against Streamwood

Aurora East extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 16 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-10 in the process. They lost 20-14 to the Streamwood Sabres. On the bright side, the 14- run performance marked the Tomcats' highest-scoring match to date.

Streamwood's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

For Streamwood's part, Hailey Dworak was a standout: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Dworak also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Aidee Marin was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.

Aurora East and Streamwood could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Tomcats will face off against Glenbard East at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (552 vs. 84). Meanwhile, Streamwood (ranked 548th) will meet South Elgin (ranked 98th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
