The Tolleson Wolverines can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They strolled past Gila Ridge with points to spare, taking the game 61-46. Given Tolleson's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Hawks are ranked 248th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tolleson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rico Blassingame, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jahlil Loyd, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The victory got Tolleson back to even at 13-13. As for Gila Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-16.
Tolleson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gila Ridge will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Kings at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Kofa's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
