Winnisquam will challenge Fall Mountain on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Winnisquam are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the game prepared for a fight.
Winnisquam gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener last Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 39-7 margin over Farmington/Nute. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Winnisquam had established a 39-7 advantage.
Meanwhile, Fall Mountain had to hit the road for their first game, and unfortunately the road hit them back. They took a 12-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Raymond.
Winnisquam's win lifted them to 1-0 while Fall Mountain's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. In Winnisquam's victory, sophomore Philip Nichols rushed for 74 yards and 2 touchdowns and senior Angelo Glover rushed for 116 yards and 1 touchdown. We'll see if Fall Mountain have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
