The Lyons Lions suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They were dealt a 54-21 defeat at the hands of Southeast of Saline. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lyons has scored all season.
Leading Southeast of Saline to victory were Daniel Kejr and Brenton Leeds. Kejr scored nine points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Leeds scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gannon Jacobson, who scored four points along with three steals.
Lyons bumped their record down to 3-6 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Southeast of Saline, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.
Lyons won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Smoky Valley on January 19th. Hopefully Smoky Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on January 2nd. As for Southeast of Saline, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Republic County at 7:00 p.m. Republic County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 281st, while Southeast of Saline is ranked 107th).
