Santa Clara got a massive performance out of Victoria Calvillo (2027), who went 4-for-6 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave Calvillo (2027) a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine (Jazzy) Ramirez (2026), who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Santa Clara kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Silver Creek was able to grind out a solid victory over Gunn on Wednesday, taking the game 6-3.
Evangelina Cuevas made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Cuevas was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Emma Tang was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jessenia 'Taco' Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Santa Clara's win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Silver Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 19-8.
Silver Creek's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Santa Clara has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Silver Creek, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given Santa Clara's sizable advantage in that area, the Raiders will need to find a way to close that gap.
Santa Clara came up short against Silver Creek in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, falling 16-13. Can the Bruins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
