Sage Woolstenhulme and James Borg made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Woolstenhulme tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Borg struck out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Woolstenhulme a new career-high in strikeouts (four). At bat, Woolstenhulme went 1-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Borg got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was Woolstenhulme's first of the season.
In other batting news, Luke Nelson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Wyatt Moore was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Gooding's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Teton, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Gooding has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Teton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
