Evangel Christian extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to 15 on Thursday, bumping them up to 3-0. They came out on top against the Valiant Cross Academy Warriors by a score of 83-70. The Lightning have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Evangel Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Bugnar, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 21 rebounds. Those 22 points gave Bugnar a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hudson Walker, who went 7-for-12 en route to 19 points and six boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Valiant Cross Academy fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was John Cosby, who posted 25 points. James Cosby was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Evangel Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Restoration Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Valiant Cross Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 77-55 victory against Hooper Academy on the 21st.
