The Jefferson Dragons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Heritage Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
Jefferson stacked a fifth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Loganville 56-20 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-7.
Gavin Markey and Sammy Brown were among the main playmakers for Jefferson as the former threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes and the latter gained 161 total yards and four touchdowns. Brown really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run. Jefferson also got a significant boost from Dallas Russell, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.
Heritage can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They strolled past Winder-Barrow with points to spare, taking the game 40-21. The victory was just what Heritage needed coming off of a 42-0 defeat in their prior matchup.
Heritage had a senior duo take command as Dion Dean jr picked up 198 receiving yards and three touchdowns and Tony Green threw for 344 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt.
Their wins bumped Jefferson to 8-0 and Heritage to 3-5.
Everything came up roses for Jefferson against Heritage in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 49-6 victory. Will Jefferson repeat their success, or does Heritage have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
