Even though the Chicopee Comp Colts have not done well against the Pittsfield Generals recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Chicopee Comp came out on top against Pittsfield by a score of 72-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Pittsfield lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Makai Shepardson, who scored 18 points. Malachi Perry was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Chicopee Comp pushed their record up to 1-0 with that victory, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. As for Pittsfield, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1.
Chicopee Comp will be playing at home against West Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pittsfield, they will head out on the road to face off against East Longmeadow at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
