The Bullitt East Chargers will challenge the Scott County Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Scott County will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Bullitt East extended their winning streak to nine on Friday. The Chargers' pitchers stepped up to hand North Bullitt a 9-0 shutout. The Chargers' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.

Bullitt East got a big performance out of Alivia Cooper, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Cooper a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Mollie Johnston, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Bullitt East hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Bullitt struck out 13 times.
Meanwhile, Scott County had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Eagles as they made off with a 16-0 victory. The matchup marked the Cardinals' most dominant win of the season.
Ada Little made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Katie Stevens was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with five RBI and one double. Makiah Jackson was another key player, scoring four runs while going 2-for-3.
Scott County pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Bullitt East, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Bullitt East hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Scott County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Bullitt East was able to grind out a solid win over Scott County in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 6-2. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
