Logos got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joseph Sensing out in front who threw for 56 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 36 yards and one score. The Knights also got a significant boost from Ole Sundlie, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 92 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Logos was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 327 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 155 rushing yards in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Hagerman over Potlatch in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Pirates blew the Loggers out of the water with a 64-20 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Pirates had established a 38-point advantage.
Logos better keep an eye on Casen Knight. He was instrumental in Hagerman's win, rushing for 265 yards and five TDs on only 15 carries, while also picking up 87 receiving yards and one score. Knight didn't just play on offense: he also made nine total tackles (1.5 for loss) and defended one pass in addition to snagging three interceptions. Wyatt Mavencamp was another major influence, as he rushed for 85 yards and ran in a TD.
Hagerman didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. Knight was the real danger to the passing game, picking up three interceptions all by himself.
Hagerman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 9.44 yards per carry in those games compared to only 2.77 in the others. As for Logos, their record now sits at 8-2.
Everything went Logos' way against Hagerman in their previous meeting back in August, as Logos made off with a 34-8 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Knight, who picked up 123 receiving yards and one touchdown. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Knights still be able to contain Knight? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
