The Pettus Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Waelder on the road by a decisive 69-54 margin. Pettus has not had much luck with Waelder recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Desmond Montoya, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Ramon Reyna, who scored 17 points.
Pettus has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Waelder, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pettus will face off against Runge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Waelder, they will head out on the road to face off against Austwell-Tivoli at 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday. Austwell-Tivoli has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 259 points over their last four contests.
