Jacobs is 1-9 against Huntley since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jacobs Golden Eagles on the road again and play against the Huntley Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Jacobs didn't have too much trouble with Prairie Ridge on the road as they won 64-45. Jacobs pushed the score to 51-30 by the end of the third, a deficit Prairie Ridge cut but never quite recovered from.
Jacobs' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Treval Howard, who scored 19 points, and Ben Jurzak, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Nolan Roper, who scored seven points along with three steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Huntley was able to grind out a solid win over Hampshire on Tuesday, taking the game 55-48. The win made it back-to-back wins for Huntley.
Jacobs' win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13. As for Huntley, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9.
Jacobs came out on top in a nail-biter against Huntley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 48-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jacobs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
