In what's become a running theme this season, the Cape Fear Colts gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Jack Britt with a sharp 64-39 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-13.
Jayda Angel was her usual excellent self, scoring 31 points. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Cape Fear's points. Kayia Starling was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Cape Fear pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Jack Britt, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.
Cape Fear will head out on the road to square off against South View at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South View will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Cape Fear is ranked 16th). As for Jack Britt, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Purnell Swett at 6:00 p.m. Purnell Swett is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
