Wilson Prep hasn't had much luck against North Johnston recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wilson Prep has three straight victories, North Johnston has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Wilson Prep came out on top against Northwest Halifax last Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run fourth inning. The Tigers blew past the Vikings 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Ahmad Sellers was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He also got a hit, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Deandre Sellers was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was John Royer, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two doubles.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when North Johnston challenged Bunn on Friday. The Panthers fell 6-1 to the Wildcats.
North Johnston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Seth Scott, who went 2-for-4 with one double.
Wilson Prep's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for North Johnston, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.
Wilson Prep might still be hurting after the 15-2 defeat they got from North Johnston in their previous meeting on April 4th. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
