Harlingen South has gone a perfect 5-0 against Donna recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hawks will take on the Redskins at 6:30 p.m. Harlingen South is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Harlingen South lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lopez, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's match. The Hawks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Lobos a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.
Lexi Sandoval was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Kara Jensen and Angela Perez did most of the damage at the plate: Jensen scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Perez scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Perez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evette Garcia, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Harlingen South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lopez only posted an OBP of .095.
Meanwhile, Donna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Weslaco East, falling 14-1.
Harlingen South's record now sits at 15-5. As for Donna, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-17-1.
Donna's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Harlingen South has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Donna, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will Harlingen South keep running through batters, or will the Redskins buck the trend?
Everything went Harlingen South's way against Donna in their previous meeting back in March, as Harlingen South made off with a 16-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
