Calvary Christian has gone 9-1 against Newport recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Calvary Christian has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Calvary Christian might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-3 to Villa Madonna, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Finn Zachary was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs. Leo Mcdaniel also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Newport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 59th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Trimble County, falling 14-1.

Newport saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adam Kuebel, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Newport, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-34.

Newport's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Calvary Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Newport, though, as they've been averaging only 3.2 strikeouts. Will Calvary Christian keep running through batters, or will the Wildcats buck the trend?

Everything went Calvary Christian's way against Newport in their previous meeting back in April, as Calvary Christian made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
