Baseball Recap: Converse Wins Going Away Against Peabody

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Converse). They blew past the Peabody Warhorses 16-4 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Mavrick Mitchell was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Eli Smith was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Converse hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peabody struck out ten times.

Converse's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Peabody, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Coming up, Converse is taking a road trip to square off against New Iberia at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Peabody, they will venture away from home to take on Lafayette at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
