After a string of seven wins, the James F. Byrnes Rebels's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to Central Bucks West 56-51. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points James F. Byrnes has scored all season.
James F. Byrnes lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Will Fowler, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. The match was Fowler's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kayzzin McDowell, who scored 13 points.
James F. Byrnes' defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Central Bucks West, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. James F. Byrnes will take on T.L. Hanna at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. T.L. Hanna knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully James F. Byrnes likes a good challenge. Central Bucks West and Quakertown will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Quakertown is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
