The Arvin Bears lost against the Golden Valley Bulldogs back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Arvin took a 70-54 bruising from Golden Valley. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Arvin in their matchups with Golden Valley: they've now lost five in a row.
Arvin lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Allen Stone, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Miguel Damian, who scored 12 points.
Miguel Ceja was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 2 assists for Golden Valley. The game was Ceja's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Dillon Thompson was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Arvin's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Golden Valley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-10.
Arvin will head out on the road to face off against Exeter at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Golden Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
