The San Benito Greyhounds will be home for the holidays to greet the Mission Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully San Benito focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
Last Friday, San Benito sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 31-28 win over Rio Grande City. The victory made it back-to-back wins for San Benito.
San Benito's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Angelina Reyes, who scored 7 points along with 9 rebounds. Kayla Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Mission, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-44 loss to Brackenridge last Friday. Mission has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
San Benito is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Mission, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
San Benito beat Mission 40-28 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Does San Benito have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mission turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
