Niceville has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Gulf Breeze Dolphins at TBD on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Niceville rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They skirted past the Bulldogs 49-47. Given Niceville's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Crestview is ranked 165th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Anna Kimball continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Carson Fayard was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six assists.
Even though Gulf Breeze has not done well against Pace recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Gulf Breeze snuck past Pace with a 49-43 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Gulf Breeze.
Niceville is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for Gulf Breeze, their win bumped their record up to 18-7.
Niceville skirted past Gulf Breeze 56-53 when the teams last played back in January. Does Niceville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gulf Breeze turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
