McDonald is a perfect 10-0 against Lowellville since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Blue Devils will head out to face off against the Rockets at 5:00 p.m. McDonald is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.
McDonald gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 5-2 win over Jackson-Milton. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Bluejays: they've now won four in a row.
Brady Shobel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jordan Perry, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Josh Srock, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Lowellville had taken Heartland Christian down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Rockets fell 5-2 to the Lions.
Lowellville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Primous, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Lowellville has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for McDonald, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. McDonald has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lowellville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went McDonald's way against Lowellville in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as McDonald made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
