The Thunder Basin Bolts scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 62-61 photo finish over Central. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Thunder Basin was led to victory by Addison Rouse and Kambel Cox. Rouse dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Cox scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Rouse is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Mcgrath, who scored nine points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Central's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Izzy Kelly, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks, and Taylin Wade who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kelly has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Karson Tempel, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Thunder Basin pushed their record up to 9-9 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.
Thunder Basin and East will face off at 1:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. East will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Thunder Basin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Central, they and Campbell County will face off at 1:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Campbell County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season.
