The Sayre Sabres posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 63-25 victory over Parkway Center City. With Sayre ahead 36-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Sayre had a senior duo take command as Josh Rollins scored 17 points and Carlos Brown scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zahki Solomon, who scored ten points.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaden McKnight, who scored three points along with 14 rebounds and four steals. McKnight has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kameron Fortune, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Sayre pushed their record up to 9-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Parkway Center City, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sayre will face off against High School of the Future at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Parkway Center City, Parkway Center City and Strawberry Mansion will face off at 3:15 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Strawberry Mansion and Parkway Center City are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
