Nicholas County fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Midland Trail on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 61-52 to the Patriots.
Despite their loss, Nicholas County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Isaiah Miner, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Miner is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Ethan Collins, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
PikeView fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past Liberty 74-45 on the road on Friday. That 29 point margin sets a new team best for PikeView this season.
Nicholas County dropped their record down to 6-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for PikeView, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
Nicholas County lost to PikeView on the road by a decisive 57-43 margin in their previous matchup on Thursday. Can Nicholas County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
