Two dominant signal callers in Kalieb Osborne and Sante Gasperoni are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Mott Corsairs will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the De La Salle Collegiate Pilots at 1:00 p.m. on November 18th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Mott rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 40-19 margin over Carlson.
Osborne was his usual excellent self, throwing for 240 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also punching in two touchdowns on the ground.
Meanwhile, De La Salle Collegiate had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.9 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They put the hurt on Roseville with a sharp 34-14 win.
It was another big night for Gasperoni, who rushed for 41 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 83 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Anthony Bitonti and his 161 yards on the ground were also a key factor in De La Salle Collegiate's victory.
Mott pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points per game. As for De La Salle Collegiate, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
