The Carteret Ramblers are taking a road trip to take on the South River Rams at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Carteret is headed into the game with an undefeated record on the line, something North Plainfield almost spoiled on Monday. The Ramblers came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Canucks. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Ramblers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Luis Hernandez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Hernandez wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Miles Ferreiras, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Ferreiras has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Jayden Luciano also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, while South River put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for J.P. Stevens. The Rams came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hawks, sneaking past 1-0. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won three in a row.
The result came thanks to Julien Borusovic's shutout, as he gave up just seven hits and racked up six Ks.
South River now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Carteret, their record now sits at 6-0.
South River's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Carteret hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .366. It's a different story for South River, though, as they've only averaged .187. Will they be able to contain Carteret's hitters?
Carteret suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to South River in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Ramblers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
