Basketball Recap: Mullins Takes a Loss

Mullins and Atlantic Collegiate Academy squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Mullins had to settle for second. They lost 67-42 to the Atlantic Collegiate Academy Armada. The Auctioneers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 67-21.

Despite the loss, Mullins still got an impressive performance from Amir Lee, who went 5-for-6 en route to 10 points. Those ten points gave Lee a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dakarai Worley, who posted seven points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals.

Jamie Brooks continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Atlantic Collegiate Academy, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. Brooks' big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Jaylen Bellamy was another key player, going 5-for-11 to rack up 12 points and five rebounds.

Mullins' loss dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Atlantic Collegiate Academy, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 22-3.

Mullins does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Atlantic Collegiate Academy, they will square off against Andrew Jackson on Tuesday. Atlantic Collegiate Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 contests -- so hopefully Andrew Jackson likes a good challenge.
