The Rapides Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 75-20 victory over Alexandria Country Day. Rapides has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 21 points or more this season.
Rapides got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zayveian Johnson out in front who scored 17 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Coleman, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Rapides used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Alexandria Country Day. And. Terrance McNeal made the most of the opportunity, scoring six points along with three steals. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Rapides' win bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Alexandria Country Day, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-19.
Rapides will head out on the road to square off against Harrisonburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Rapides focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday. As for Alexandria Country Day, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Grace Christian at 5:00 p.m. on February 6th. Grace Christian is coming into the game with four straight losses on the road, so Alexandria Country Day is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
