The Maryvale Panthers entered their tilt with the Camelback Spartans with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Maryvale strolled past Camelback with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 69-52. That's another feather in the cap for Maryvale, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Maryvale found their leader in underclassman Adrian Stubbs, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Stubbs is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Murphy, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Camelback lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kofi Idris. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 rebounds and 12 blocks. Idris is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Aken Logan, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
The win got Maryvale back to even at 10-10. As for Camelback, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maryvale will take on San Luis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Camelback, they will be playing at home against Carl Hayden Community at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
