When it comes to explaining why The Covenant lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jonathan Newton. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Grant Cook, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Roanoke Catholic's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for The Covenant, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
