The Nativity BVM Green Wave are taking a road trip to square off against Marian Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with six losses in a row, Nativity BVM turned things around against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Red Raiders. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Green Wave's hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Ava Stankavage was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Stankavage was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Chloe Covell was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. Macie Rushannon also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Nativity BVM kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Marian Catholic never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past Shenandoah Valley 17-0. Marian Catholic might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
Emily Upanavage made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Malina Letcher was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and seven RBI. Gracie Sendatch was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Nativity BVM's record now sits at 3-14. As for Marian Catholic, their record is now 8-6.
Nativity BVM suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Marian Catholic when the teams last played on April 2nd. Can the Green Wave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
