Idaho Falls has gone 8-1 against Thunder Ridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Titans at 4:00 p.m. Idaho Falls is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Friday just wasn't the day for Idaho Falls' offense. They came up short against Bonneville on Friday, falling 10-0. The Tigers have struggled against the Bees recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Thunder Ridge fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Madison on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 17-16.
Thunder Ridge got a good showing from Damon Olson, who pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Olson is becoming a predictor of the Titans' success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 4-2 (and 4-5-1 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Ryan Harris and Braedyn Pike did some serious damage despite the final result: Harris got on base in three of his six plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Pike got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Connor Birch, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Idaho Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Thunder Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Idaho Falls has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Thunder Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Idaho Falls got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2022 against Thunder Ridge by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
