After three games on the road, Woodland is heading back home. They will take on the Mt. Zion Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Woodland lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They took a serious blow against Pace Academy, falling 70-40. Woodland has struggled against the Knights recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Woodland got a solid performance out of Mason Lewis, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Lewis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played.
Meanwhile, Mt. Zion pushed their score all the way to 65 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Luella by a score of 67-65.
Woodland has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Mt. Zion, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.
Woodland didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 59-55 victory. Will Woodland repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
