The Lonoke Jackrabbits are taking a road trip to square off against the Southside Southerners at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lonoke is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Southside will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Lonoke extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Jackrabbits came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against Des Arc. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jackrabbits have posted since March 15th.

Kendra Terry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kirsten Holt, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaniya Jackson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Lonoke always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Des Arc only posted an OBP of .389.
Southside let Trumann stack four runs on them in the second inning two weeks ago but luckily Southside prevailed anyway. The Southerners walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Wildcats. The Southerners haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Chaney McCance was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Leslie Crenshaw also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Lonoke pushed their record up to 16-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Southside, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Lonoke was able to grind out a solid victory over Southside when the teams last played back in March, winning 5-0. Will the Jackrabbits repeat their success, or do the Southerners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
