Even though the Pinedale Wranglers have not done well against the Lyman Eagles recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Pinedale strolled past Lyman with points to spare, taking the game 63-48. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pinedale.
Pinedale's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Erica Wilson, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elyn Bowers, who scored 13 points along with nine assists and eight rebounds.
Lyman's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Paige Rose, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Ashtyn Wells who scored 12 points along with three steals. Rose is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was BriLee Bradshaw, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Lyman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pinedale only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Pinedale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Lyman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Pinedale will head out on the road to challenge Mountain View at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games. As for Lyman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lander Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Lander Valley is ranked 17th, while Lyman is ranked 26th).
