The Skyview Wolverines will challenge the George Washington Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Skyview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Skyview made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Fort Morgan, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wolverines fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolverines in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost seven in a row.
Skyview saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcelo Navarro, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Navarro has hit this season.
Meanwhile, George Washington never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over Kennedy. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Commanders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Nick Wieder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wieder was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Niko Singh looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, George Washington let Jonah Rascoff and Rocco Citrone run wild. Rascoff went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Citrone went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs Citrone has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Eli Marshall, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
George Washington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennedy only posted an OBP of .000.
Skyview's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for George Washington, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Skyview has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like George Washington struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Skyview might still be hurting after the 13-6 defeat they got from George Washington in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Will the Wolverines have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
