Adding to the longest winning streak in West Sierra this week, Firebaugh beat Parlier 33-6. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Mendota moved up to 549 from 670 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Aztecs climbed the ranks as a result of beating Sierra 42-13.
Edgar Segura was a beast in the backfield as Mendota beat the Chieftains.
Joe Cabrera was a key player and the best on defense this week as Firebaugh topped the Panthers. The 5-foot-10 junior recorded 2 fumbles.
Josh Allen threw for 293 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 19-31 with 0 interceptions.
Cristian Patlan was the best receiver in the league this week as william magnusson's team defeated Parlier. Patlan racked up 7 receptions for 111 yards. Jordan Martinez helped Firebaugh's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 98 yards.
Leading West Sierra in both passing and receiving yards, the Eagles' Allen and Patlan have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Allen has thrown for 1,410 yards this season, while Patlan has 27 catches for 463 yards. Segura from Robert Mejia's team leads the league in rushing with 1,322 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Firebaugh takes on Tranquillity. At the moment, the Eagles are in first, while the Tigers are in fourth.
