If Valentine were feeling good off their 54-11 takedown of the Hemingford Bobcats last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Valentine fell 43-30 to Holdrege on Friday.
When it comes to explaining why Valentine lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kinsey Buechle. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with six rebounds. The contest was Buechle's third in a row with at least ten points.
Valentine bumped their record down to 5-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Holdrege, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valentine's road trip will continue as they head out to face Minden at 2:30 p.m. on January 6th. Minden presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Valentine in Nebraska (Minden is ranked 16th, while Valentine is ranked 161st). As for Holdrege, they will head out on the road to face off against Ainsworth at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ainsworth will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
