The biggest upset of the week belonged to Hayward, who took down 155th ranked Bishop O'Dowd, 14-13.
The Farmers moved up to 476 from 524 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in West Alameda County - Foothill. Hayward was able to make move up by besting the Dragons 14-13.
Berkeley's LAMONT SMITH and AKIL BORDELON have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. SMITH has thrown for 513 yards this season, while BORDELON, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 12 catches for 200 yards. Corey Sails from Encinal leads the league in rushing with 355 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Farmers take on Castro Valley. Hayward is in second place, while the Trojans are in third place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Yellowjackets take on Bishop O'Dowd. Berkeley has allowed 153 points this season, while the Dragons have given up 157. The Yellowjackets allowed 0 points last week as they topped San Leandro.
The Farmers made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,014 from 6,984. The improvement was the result of 14-13 victory over Bishop O'Dowd last week.
