Wesson hasn't had much luck against Enterprise recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cobras will look to defend their home field against the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Wesson is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 29, 2025 on Friday. They lost 15-6 to Loyd Star. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Cobras, who until this matchup were averaging 3.47 runs allowed.
Baylor Smith made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Blayten Windom, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Enterprise came up short against Puckett on Saturday, falling 12-1.
Enterprise saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ripken Powell, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Wesson's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 13-3-1. As for Enterprise, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Wesson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. However, it's not like Enterprise struggles in that department as they've averaged .433. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wesson couldn't quite get it done against Enterprise when the teams last played back in February of 2025 as they fell 9-4. Will the Cobras have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
