Baseball Game Preview: Haughton Buccaneers vs. Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers

Haughton is a perfect 3-0 against Calvary Baptist Academy since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Haughton Buccaneers are taking a road trip to take on the Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers at 12:00 p.m. Haughton will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Haughton barely beat Calvary Baptist Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Haughton was the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Calvary Baptist Academy on Thursday. Considering the Buccaneers have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Calvary Baptist Academy's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Martinez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. That's the most hits Martinez has posted since back in February.

Haughton pushed their record up to 15-3-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Calvary Baptist Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.
