Monroe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Micah Allen, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Allen has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Young, who scored 14 points along with six assists and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Forest Hills lost, one person who can't be blamed is Samuel Huntley. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points. Kj Chambers was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds.
Monroe pushed their record up to 5-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Forest Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monroe won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Anson at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
